When I had to write an essay on agriculture, I read about underwater greenhouses which I find quite a dumb idea. First of all, half of the sunlight is lost in the first meter of water, meaning these plants get almost no light. Second, the light they do get is from the blue spectrum. Any first-year hot student knows that plants require red and far-red light to grow. Yet that is absorbed by the surface water. Not to mention the fact that your employees would all have to be certified divers. Now, if the entire planet were to be flooded and we all had to live under water, I'll be glad these guys are doing the research. But to tout it as useful agriculture?
